Montefalco D.O.C. Red

The geographical area of Montefalco d.o.c. it falls in the province of Perugia, in the center of Umbria, and embraces the entire municipal area of Montefalco and part of the municipalities of Bevagna, Giano dell ‘Umbria, Gualdo Cattaneo and Castel Ritaldi. It is a very small area, with land that slopes gently along the profiles of the highest hill reliefs manned by ancient medieval villages. The slope of the vineyards and the general exposure is variable, so as to create a wide range of microclimates and cultivation conditions.

HARVEST: Manual at perfect ripening
WINEMAKING PROCESS: Grape skin maceration duration: 15 days at the controlled steady temperature of 25° C with repeated daily fullings mainly at the beginning
MATURATION: 12 months in French oak barrels. 12 months in stainless steel containers followed by aging in bottle for 4 months
ALCOHOL CONTENT: 14,5% vol.
TASTING: Colour: Reddish to garnet
Scent: Balsamic notes, fruits under spirit, spicy
Taste: Smooth tannin, medium structure, long finish
